October 11: #81 - don't sweat the small stuff
Half a pocket torch - where on earth the back went goodness only knows... discarding 100 things - kitchen drawers are a great place to dump things you think you might need AT SOME POINT - the point is, that POINT rarely if ever comes around. And because we don't put things away, we can never find what we do need... or is that just me?
My normal monday evening training session had to go by the way side today as a girlfriend flew in from Canberra to conduct some training for the WA operations of her organisation. We exercised jaws as we talked for 3 and a half hours, but given that we haven't spoken face to face for 8 years, I think we can be forgiven.
Ad-hoc spending went a little out of the window today as well as I managed to book 2 tickets to a whale watching adventure on Thursday. But I am taking my mother in law who is over for a holiday, out for the day, so I don't think it really counts. Similarly, my friend and I enjoyed dinner and a glass of wine. But not buying all those little things, like the minor cups of coffee at $4.50 per day and all the other "little" purchases means there is money for these kinds of events. And that to me is the most important aspect - don't sweat the small stuff, so we can enjoy the bigger stuff at a later date.
