October 20: #72
Long days. My normal wednesday training day routine will be kicked to touch tonight as my mother-in-law flies back to the UK tomorrow. So - tonight I'm taking her out on the town. No, we are not going to paint it red, or even a slight shade of pink - Margaret doesn't drink alcohol.
We are fortunate to have a park on a hill which overlooks Perth city. Perth city by night from the top of Kings Park (Mt Eliza) is one of the best views in the entire world (IMO) and that was where we were headed. You can see forever and the stillness is amazing. I often visit the place in the early evening - when there are enough people around to make it safe enough to do - just to remind myself how insignificant my issues and problems are.
And she loved it.
Some things are worth giving up the exercise for let me tell you.
We drove back via the city and stopped off and had a cup of tea in the Duxton's wood panelled bar where the staff are always pleased to see you, even if they have never seen you before. Then home. We are going to miss her, hopefully it won't be too long before she heads back this way again.
