September 26: Day 96: Happy Birthday your majesty.

I'm not sure if Australia is the only country to celebrate the Queen's birthday, but that is why we are getting a day off tomorrow.  I'm not even sure it is the Queen's official birth date - but even so, happy birthday your majesty, thanks for the extra day off.

Life is pretty damn good at the moment. Is it because the forecast for today is a glorious 24, the fact that we are heading to Guildford for breakfast at The Lounge Room, or that I am so close to finishing off my front garden bed it's exciting? I don't know, but that's what today is - exciting.

You know the other really good thng, I am sleeping a lot better. For those of you who know me well, will know that I have had trouble sleeping - years of insomnia. But over the last couple of days I have had some glorious sleep and long may it continue that's what I say.

Ok, so you are probably dying to know about the challenge. Well, it's all good. My discard 100 things in 100 days is going well. New pic is up in the gallery. Given that I managed to bust the reticulation pipe while trying to tackle the weed patch that is my front garden, these bits are definitely not required any longer. Oh and when I say - "is" my front garden, well today I managed to complete the job. It took about 15 hours in total to completely weed, mulch matt and mulch it. But goodness it does look better.

The beauty about gardening of course is that it gives you a complete all over workout - and the second best thing is - you keep going for hours. As you know, exercise is always on my MUST do list of things, but - Gardening is not just a test of fitness though it is a test of endurance and in my case - patience. I'm not a natural gardener, but even i'm happy with the results. And to finish off the front I shall be mowing the lawns tomorrow.

My plan to cut incidental spending to an absolute minimum is also on track. Wandering through Guildford it was nice to look but not to buy. I even found a book I wanted in a 2nd hand book store, but I put it back. I have it on a list of things to get once this challenge is over.

So my challenges are on track and thanks to our Liz I get to work on the next set of house / garden goals tomorrow as well.

Life is good, how about you?
