How wealthy are you really?

Welcome to today's issue of The Daily Dose of Motivational Medicine. The e-zine of Motivateme: Breaking the Procrastination Habit. http://www.motivateme.info. Have you signed up for your daily dose yet?
----------------------------------------------------------
Good morning, I hope this finds you well.

Do you spend a lot of time worrying about things you have no control over? Then you might be interested in today's ramblings entitled "A Worrying Habit" in http://www.motivateme.info/motivational-matters/

But today I'd like to speak to you on the subject of wealth.

Now how many of you thought I was talking about the amount of money in your bank account when I asked how wealthy you were? Well most people can get more "money" but not many people are truly wealthy. You see wealth is more than just money!

Don't believe me? well consider this:

Do you have good health? You see all the money in the world didn't help Kerry Packer or Princess Di. If you don't have good health - it can be priceless.

Do you have friends you can turn to when everything turns to dust? That in itself is worth more than all the money in every bank account in the world.

Do you have family, what about children - are they healthy? Then that too is priceless.

Being wealthy of mind means that you think of more than just yourself and your own needs. Being wealthy means that you listen when people speak. Most people don't really listen, they are too busy thinking of their next response to take much notice of what is really being said. Being in the moment and giving the gift of attention is worth a lot more than you think.

Now that doesn't mean that you are a doormat and you have a friend who whinges constantly and you have to sit and listen to the same stuff over and over and over again, that's not what we mean.

Can you have wealth of body? Well I think so, consider that you have two hands and you are willing to lend one of them to help others out. Then you are truly a wealthy person.

So next time you think you don't have much in the way of assets - think again.

One of the many emails that did the rounds recently comes to mind when i think about wealth. In it there was a class discussion about the seven wonders of the world. The class set about deciding which should be on the list...but one girl seemed to be having trouble. The teacher asked what the problem was, and the girl sighed that she had more than seven, so the teacher asked her to share them and the rest of the class would help. She said, she thought the seven wonders of the world were:

Being able to see
Being able to hear
Being able to touch
Having enough food to eat
Sharing
Caring and
Being able to love and be loved

How wealthy are you really?

I hope you have a beautiful day, one that is filled with many exquisite and wealthy moments
