Good morning I hope this finds you well and enjoying the day
Carrying on from yesterdays discussion about setting a good example with body language etc, today I would like to talk to you about your environments. Now I don't mean the environment, Al Gore does that far better than I. No I mean where you live, work and generally spend your time.
What does your workstation, home, office or garden look like? Does your environment reflect the state of your mind and body?
Let me put it this way, if you don't know where anything is, you can't start anything can you. And lets face it, if you know where everything is, you don't have any excuses anymore do you. Clean and tidy means that you can put your hands on whatever it is you are looking for. You don't have to spend hours overhauling the environment, a few minutes every day will keep a clean environment clean. And that is enough to scare most people....if you can find it, you can get on and do it !!
Do people you interact with on a daily (or otherwise) basis, do they see the state of your office/home and think that because you live or work in that environment then it must be OK for them to do that too?
Please bear in mind that I am not just talking about children here, but anyone who looks to you, be it the kids or your co-workers or employees. It is vital that you never deal in double standards with these people. Don't ask them to do things that you yourself are not prepared to do. Don't ask the kids to do their homework if you can't be bothered to do your own. Nor should you expect the kids to keep their rooms clean if the rest of the house is a complete mess.
If you really and truthfully want to get on, then you need to make sure you are not sabotaging your efforts by living and working in an environment that looks like a toxic waste dump.
Here in Oz it is now officially spring, so get cleaning!!
