Where are your weeds?

Welcome to today's issue of The Daily Dose of Motivational Medicine. The e-zine of Motivateme: Breaking the Procrastination Habit. http://www.motivateme.info. Have you signed up for your daily dose yet?
----------------------------------------------------------
Where are your weeds?

Have you noticed that if we don't go out into the garden on a regular basis to pull the weeds out of the garden beds, then before we've had time to sit back and relax and enjoy the flowers, the weeds have taken over again.

So what happens? we have to spend hours and hours pulling out great chunks of vegetation so that we can see the flowers again. Whereas a few minutes every weekend will mean that our garden beds are weed free.

But weeds aren't just limited to the garden, but to every aspect of our lives. If we don't do something every day towards those things that are important to us, we then need to spend hours and hours overhauling ourselves and our projects just to get back to the place we were at the end of the last overhaul.

Neglect of our health and fitness means that we have to diet longer and harder every time we need to overhaul our weight loss goal. Excess weight means that it is harder for us to exercise. It is harder on the joints and our cardio systems. But keeping an eye on both our diet and the exercise on a daily basis means that we don't need to overhaul ourselves.

Neglect of our homes means taking a whole lot longer to clean every weekend, which means we don't have time to work on those things that will bring us closer to our goals, dreams and aspirations.

Neglect towards money means that we will spend more than we earn. We fail to budget, and we don't know where it disappears too. Do you get to the end of the week and wonder what you spent your money on?

Neglect isn't limited to one area of our lives. I can almost guarantee that if you have weeds in one area of your life, then you will have weeds in other areas too. So work out where your weeds are, and then start removing them. Because if you don't you will either spend all your time overhauling your life only to reach the same point over and over again. Or your weeds will choke you.
