taking stock of where you are
Welcome to today's issue of The Daily Dose of Motivational Medicine. The e-zine of Motivateme: Breaking the Procrastination Habit. http://www.motivateme.info. Have you signed up for your daily dose yet?
----------------------------------------------------------
Good Morning I hope this finds you well. Today I just want to spend a couple of minutes and go back over some of the things that we have been discussing recently.
Now before you decide this issue has nothing of value, let me persuade you otherwise....if you don't review where you currently are - how do you know if you are on the right path?
Yesterday I asked if you were happy to work for the person who looks at you every morning as you clean your teeth and slap on a bit of makeup (sorry to the blokes out there who read this...but you know what I mean).
Did you review your clothing habits? Are you happy with the way that you look? Or do you need to make some changes? Does your hair need a good cut, do the roots need "seeing" to? We still judge people by the way that they look? What do you "look" like?
Did you review your "consumption" habits - Food, alcohol and other substances eg caffeine?
Have you listened to the words that go into your mind and out of your mouth? If they are predominantly negative - are you attempting to stop them and change them for something a little more positive and uplifting?
Have you reviewed your television watching habits?
What books are you currently reading?
Everything that goes into your mind has a habit of coming out of your mouth - so make sure you're not just talking about who wore what to what function....unless that's really important to you that is.
Have you reviewed your financial systems? Can you make some changes?
Have you paid your bills and done your filing so you're not hiding behind clutter?
Have you taken time out of the day to be still and just "be"? Yes this is extremely important in today's hectic lifestyles.
Have you smiled today?
Have you spoken to those people who have caused you angst and explained (nicely of course) about why their words and actions have upset you? If they cannot stop their behaviours then I would suggest you limit your association with them becuase otherwise you will be carrying around their clutter as well as your own.
Do not give head space to those people who do not deserve it. Leave room for those people who do matter!!
Understanding your long term goals and plans means that today you can either take steps towards them - or take steps away from them. Only you have the power to decide which way you want to go.
And more importantly even than that - is your attitude.
Remember that it takes time to design a new life, but a whole life time to live it. So why not enjoy the process.
If you have found this to be useful, don't keep it to yourself - but pass it on to anyone who you think may benefit from this kind of information. Not only would I appreciate it, so might they. Thanks and Regards
I'll speak to you again soon.
