As promised yesterday, today we will start planning the next phase in our personal journey's. Did you take the time to reflect on the past 7 days? Did you make some interesting discoveries about yourself? I know I did. I didn't eat as well as I could have done, and I missed a couple of exercise sessions due to poor planning and time management on my part.
As I've said to you in the past - you will always find time to do what you really want to do, and you will go out of your way to do it. Similarly, if you don't want to do something, you will make all the excuses in the book and then some more.
- I don't feel well
- I'm tired
- I'll do it tomorrow when I've got a fresh start
As you know by now, those kinds of excuses just aren't valid anymore. Not if you want to really beat the procrastination habit and get more out of every day.
So today - well it is Sunday, I would like you to get out your goal list...and if you haven't created one yet, then a goal list is something that lists all those dreams and things you say you want to do, be or see, yes it is that simple.
However that is merely a list. In order to achieve great things in your life you have to be willing to do something today (and everyday) that will take you towards reaching those targets that you have just set for yourself.
Now once you have your list, I need you to get your diary out of your bag and start to block the time into it. You need to decide when you are going to work on your chosen item. If you don't block it in, if you don't create the conditions in your mind that says - on this day, between these hours I will do............. please fill in the blank. Then you will find yourself conveniently forgetting that you had promised yourself that you were going to do something that would take you towards achieving your goals.
Remember those five minutes we waste when we are waiting for other things to happen? Well you can get a lot done in five minutes if you know where you are going and what you are doing...and it all comes down to planning.
A final word - Most people end up with about 2-3 hours of non-work time a day that they can use to devote to their own goals, needs and desires. Most people use this time to watch the television, or worrying about things that just don't matter and probably will never happen - don't let that be you.
