Can you see the possibilities?
Good afternoon
One of the readers of the Daily Dose pointed out that it is all very well being a Diligent Do’er, but you can do any amount of stuff, without actually achieving anything of true importance.
And how true is that one. So thank you for that, and thank you for taking the time to comment, it is very much appreciated.
So perhaps what the Saturday edition was missing was the links back to goal setting, prioritising tasks and of course the Stephen Covey’s 7 habits of highly successful people recommendation in ensuring you do the important not just the urgent. For example, health and fitness is always important, but rarely urgent….and by the time it is urgent, it’s usually too late. So work out what is really important to you – and don’t wait until it is also urgent. The first rule of breaking the procrastination habit is to take small steps every day, until you feel confident enough to take giant leaps. Because once you can take the giant leaps you will be able to move with confidence towards your dreams, goals and ambitions and nothing much will get in your way.
Anyway, on to today’s edition. For those reading this in Western Australia – welcome to your new time zone….have you made plans for your extra hour of daylight? I’m sorry, I can’t help it. From the comments that I have heard, most people don’t understand the importance of an extra hour of daylight and how that can help you achieve your goals far more quickly.
Think about it, when most other people are settling into their chairs for an evening of television, we can do things we normally have to wait until the weekend to get done. We can put in an hours worth of gardening, we can go for a walk – in the daylight, rather than the dark, we can sit outside and catch up with the family, rather than being stuck indoors, we can meet family and friends for a picnic or BBQ rather than going home to cook and eat indoors – because it’s dark. We can do all sorts of things – if we want to.
We have just a few short months to take advantage of the extra hour of daylight that we have been given. Our Eastern States neighbours, our friends in the UK and elsewhere in the world have had this gift of time for many years, so lets take advantage. But like all things – be prepared to spend some time planning the days and weeks ahead, because unless you do, you will find yourself diligently doing “stuff” rather than those things that will take us towards our dreams and goals.
