Overcoming Procrastination: Don't delay it any longer

Today you have a choice.

You can do the same things you did yesterday, or you can choose to do something else. Something different. Something that will make a BIG difference to the way your life turns out.

What have you been putting off? What tasks, letters, phone calls, job applications have you decided to do tomorrow rather than today?

We all do it. Procrastination is a terrible thing. We put off doing something today, and because we didn't get into real trouble, we feel that its OK. Our minds take that as a signal to do a little less tomorrow. And sooner rather than later, all those dreams and goals we had - are filed in a dusty corner of our memories.

It's like eating bad things - we know that eating too much junk food over a sustained period of time will make us less healthy than we should be (higher cholersterol, extra padding and insulation around the body and who knows what else). What would happen if the results of our food choices were a little more immediate. Would you continue to eat "bad" food if it made you ill as soon as you ate it? Of course not, I don't think there is anyone reading this who would deliberately go out of their way to do things that can cause them harm. Yet we continue to do harmful things to our bodies without thought to the long term.

So - think more about the long term effects over your individual choices. And if you do have to eat bad foods then at least walk to the shops rather than drive. Walking uses 3 times as many calories as driving does.
