Bad days? Or just bad thoughts?
Question - Do all your positive plans for yourself go out of the window when you have a "bad day"? Do you return to comfort(able) foods, habits and behaviours when things get a little tough or are you able to dig your heels in, and your resolve and just carry on regardless?
I would hazard a guess that most people can cope with a single instance of "bad" news / happenings / emotions...but would struggle when faced with a whole string of negative.
Let me explain what I mean - you don't hear your alarm and you get up panicked, rushed and race out of the door - dressed but without breakfast and the lunch you had prepared the night before. You arrive at work and you're starving. So what do you do? You eat what you find lurking in your drawer - promising yourself that you will go and buy yourself a healthy sandwich or salad for lunch.
Then what happens, your stomach won't stop rumbling, you berate yourself for sleeping in late, forgetting your lunch, and for feeling hungry...so you go and raid the biscuit tin in the company fridge. Now what happens, you add guilt to your bad start. Add in a couple of irate phone calls, maybe even an argument with your partner and you are well on the downward slide. Instead of having that salad sandwich for lunch you decide that you "need" a muffin and maybe a block of chocolate as well. 5 o'clock comes around and you are supposed to go to the gym, but you can't be bothered, not to mention feeling a little sick.
This is a classic example of the Law of Attraction at work. You've heard the phrase I'm sure "go looking for trouble and you'll find it". If your attitude is one of feeling anger, annoyance and guilt, you can guarantee you will see that all around you. The good stuff is happening too, its just that we can't see beyond the negative.
You get the picture I'm sure, it's happened to most of us at some point down the track. So what is the issue here? Actually it's your non-conscious thought processes that are at fault. Those voices running around your head telling you the world is coming to an end, the sky is falling, you are going to starve to death if you don't eat. The question is - why do we let it run our lives? Next time you have a "bad day" stop for a minute and see what your mind is "telling" you. Easier said than done I know, but you will find that if you can stop the voices, you can stop downward slide.
