The end is nigh!
A question - if you only had 24 hours left on this planet we call home - what would you do?
I don't know about you, but I would try and do as much as I possibly could.
I would call people and tell them what they really mean to me - yes including all those people I'd not spoken to in a while - for whatever reason. I would ensure that I apologised for all my errors and made good all the mistakes that I had made.
I'd spend as much time as I could with those people I really love - my kids, my partner. I'd make sure I wore my best clothes and wore the special perfume. I'd enjoy every single moment and I wouldn't want it to end.
Well I have news for you - this moment is the only moment you truly have. We all have plans for tomorrow, next week, next year - but we don't make the most of today. We assume that we have all the time in the world to do what we want to do. But we don't. We don't know what is around the next corner, we don't know whether the super powers will get annoyed at one another and start dropping bombs everywhere. We don't know if we are due for a heart attack or condition that robs us of our strength, energy and vitality. We don't know whether we will spend our twilight years trapped in our own bodies unable to think clearly or be able to move very far.
So wouldn't it make sense to do as much as you can today - because today is all there is.
Now I am not saying that you should go and eat the entire contents of your freezer - just in case you're not here tomorrow. But I'm sure you know what I mean.
And just a final word - the actions that you take today will have a direct impact on the quality of your life tomorrow. If you do a little less than you could do today - thinking that you can pick up the slack tomorrow, guess what you have just put yourself under even more stress and pressure - and I can guarantee you won't get it all done - why - because if you put something off once, I can almost guarantee that you will have to do so again - because other things will take their place on your own priority board.
So don't put off the exercise, don't put off making those phone calls - and I include the ones to family and friends as well as those difficult customers you've been avoiding. Do all you can today and you will achieve far more tomorrow.
