How strong is your faith in your own abilities?

Belief. It is quite an amazing word isn't it. What do you believe? Who or what do you believe in? Do you believe in a higher power? Or do you believe you make your own kind of luck?

In some cases, belief can be akin to faith. If you believe in yourself you have faith in your abilities to do what you need to do in order to achieve the things that you want to. But if your belief system is a bit shaky - then the faith you hold about yourself will also not be as strong or sure.

Procrastination is one of the ways that we undermine our belief system. We may delay starting a project because we don't believe we have the skills or the time (or whatever else) to get the project off and running. And at the other end of the scale, we also don't believe we are good enough, smart enough, talented enough to finish things off. Why - because our faith in ourselves is shaky.

There is of course another aspect to believing in our abilities - these are the kinds of people who believe they can do anything, and sometimes they may talking through their ego's, but for the most part, these are the people who do the most amazing things. They don't see road blocks as barriers - they see them as opportunities to stop and re-think their strategies.

So how strong is your belief system? Do you have faith in your abilities? Or are you feeling a little shaky at the moment?

And how do you re-gain the faith in your abilities?

Well - sometimes a deep breath can help, square your shoulders and start marching again. Dogged determination may assist you to get over the line. But a much better way is to celebrate each tiny step that takes you towards your dreams, goals and ambitions. Once you have "celebrated" find out what worked, and how you can do it better next time. And take the next step, and the next one. Each step will strengthen your belief system - have faith in your abilities and you will achieve many great things.
