Is today well planned?
A quick question as we head in to today - what exactly do you fill your days with?
Is today well planned? What about tomorrow?
Are the things you are planning on filling the hours before you go to bed going to be filled with positive happenings and thoughts or are they going to be filled with doubt, anxiety and fear?
As I have mentioned to you in a past edition of the daily dose, worry is just a series of thoughts that you are having. Well today we are going to take it a little bit further. What are the feelings and emotions that are currently filling your thoughts and your body. I mean right now - how do you feel about where you are and what you are about to do or have just done?
Are you filled with joy and happiness at the thought of what you are next going to do with your next moment of time, or is it a brooding - if only I can get through this moment I will be able to get on with what I really want to do.
But what of those niggles that are sitting at the back of your mind - constantly prodding you with subtle reminders - do you worry about your health? do you worry about someone elses health or state of mind? Does it fill your mind so that you can only do just enough to get through your day?
Worry and fear are interesting emotions, we all have them, and as we said yesterday, what one person may fear another person may well like or enjoy. But it is also interesting that worry and fear keep us from really doing everything that we can - and is probably the biggest cause of procrastination around. You see if you can't think past your worry and fear (or don't want to think past your worry and fear) - then you won't be able to embrace the things you know will take you forward. Yes there really are people out there who have a vested interest in their own ill health or their poverty mentality - it gives them something to talk about. I have an aunt who relishes a visit to the doctors, becaus it means she has something "interesting" to tell her neighbours.
Some time today I would like you to do yourself a favour. I would like you to stop what it is you are doing, and take a walk through your mind, and discover the hidden worries and fears that are holding you back - stuck in the same rut, doing the same things over and over again. Now this may be a little scary for some of you - especially if you have never asked yourself what the real matter is. But by finding out what is the true, underlying cause of your fears, anxieties and worries will you be able to deal with them and then be able to move forwards with those dreams, goals and ambitions that you said you wanted to achieve.
Try it and let me know how you get on. And I'll tell you about mine another day.
