Handling Problems: Worry is just a series of thoughts you are having
Busy, stressed out? Don't have enough hours in a day?
Did you know that you only receive as many problems as you can handle at this point in time, and did you also know that you can stop having problems if you would only stop worrying about having problems.
Have you noticed that when you make a decision – no matter what it is, things happen to you? And this works for things that you say that you want, as well as things that you say you don’t. Strange – but this is how it works. It's been called many things, synchronicity, Law of Attraction, Coincidence and so on.
How many of you deliberately wake up each morning and decide that you are going to have a bad day?
Not many I would hazard a guess.
But how many of you start to “worry” as soon as you open your eyes?
You worry about what the kids are going to get up to at school. You worry that you are not going to get to work on time because you need to get a million things done today. You know that the person you dislike is going to be back off holiday and is going to make your day and your working life a misery.
And guess what happens, You get up and you're irritable. The kids have taken all the hot water, and left their dishes on the kitchen sink – again. So you shout at them. They leave the house angry and you slam around the kitchen trying to tidy up before you leave for work. And now they’ve made you late – again. And because you’re late, the traffic is conspiring to make you even later, and wouldn’t you know it the boss is in reception talking to the person who has been on leave, so you slink in embarrassed and angry at them both for being there when you arrive. You walk around the office as if you have a black cloud hanging over you, and guess what – it’s raining.
And you know why this happened – because you wanted it to.
Your brain doesn’t know that you have told it that you don’t want x,y or z to happen. All it hears is that you have put energy into x,y and z and that’s what it has decided that you want. That's why it's called The Law of Attraction. You are attracting things to you like a proverbial magnet. The reason being - anything that you put energy or attention onto comes into being. Your constant worry has manifested itself into everything you didn’t want to happen.
Then because you are “having a bad day” you decide to cheer yourself up with a cup of fresh coffee and a biscuit from the coffee shop around the corner. And you buy yourself a small bar of chocolate on the way back to the office for later. Because you know you are going to need it!
All your good intentions that you had last night before you went to bed, have gone out of the window, which then makes you feel even worse. You feel like you have let yourself down – and because you haven’t managed to stick to your newly found disciplines you feel you might as well start tomorrow, and on it goes.
Do you have days like this?
If you do, you are not alone. But you can do something about them.
And the first thing you can do is this - you can stop worrying for starters. Worry is just a series of thoughts you are having, usually about something that may not happen. So if “worry” is just a series of thoughts, why not change them for something “positive”.
Easier said than done I know, and I know this will take some practice to really get the benefits from. But if you can just “stop worrying” over the little things, you can save your energy for those things that really matter. Namely your family, your partner, your health and yourself. As I mentioned at the beginning you are only given those things that you can handle at this point in time. Remember - whatever happens, you can handle it.
