Two days back at work since New Year, does it feel like you've never been away from the place?
Have you noticed how quickly people slip back into the same old routines and habits. I hope that's not you by the way. OK I know that somethings you will need to do in the same way, like go to work, go home and eat at some point....but the rest, well, if you are constantly getting stuck in traffic there are a couple of things you can do:
.You can whinge about it, and get mad with the other drivers for getting in your way
.You can wind down your windows and share your music (or even better the talking books you found at the library or you purchased from the "other" motivational speakers you may have heard about and subscribed to!!).
. Or you can try leaving the house a little earlier to miss the traffic. Talk this one over with the boss, who knows you may be able to negotiate a different start time so that you can make better use of the driving time/working time.
And so it is with everything, can you be open minded enough to see problems as opportunities?
The other thing I would ask you to consider is this - do you like spending all that time, driving through traffic to work at the place that you do? Because if you have gotten two days into your new working year, hating everything about it, it may be time to change...so get the paper out, and see what's available. And if you can't be bothered to do that, then things can't be that bad, so stop complaining and get on with it.
For those of you who don't know, or who haven't been to the website in a while, there is a procrastinators section on the website, for those of you with time on your hands and want to keep it that way...whilst it is a light-hearted take on what procrastination is all about, sometimes it gets a little too close for comfort, so if you haven't yet read the entries....you might like the one I added today - a new job would be nice but....http://www.motivateme.info/procrastination-tips-for-work/2007/1/3/a-new-job-would-be-nice-but.html
