Monomaniac's on a mission

Peter Drucker once wrote, “Wherever you find something getting done, you find a monomaniac with a mission.” You know that singleminded concentration on a goal or objective is absolutely necessary if you want to achieve most things in a timely manner.

What are you so passionate about that you will forget to eat, look at the clock and focus solely on that single task until it's completed?

Go on there must be something? Anything?

What do you stay up all night working on because you just want to see it finished? What do you wake up, diving straight out of bed and into the shower to do?
What excites you? What makes you smile and rub your hands with glee when you think about "it"?

It's that kind of passion we are talking about. That kind of excitement that we need to translate into our working days and our projects so that we can reap the rewards and the benefits of a job well done.

And if you are struggling today to get started, then it is important that you look beyond the task and work out the benefits and the payoffs you will receive. Until natural momentum takes over, sometimes we need an outside influence to get us going. So post them on a wall where you can see them. Then when you need motivation to continue just check the benefits and payoffs board. And if that doesn't motivate you - well something tells me nothing will.
