Defining moments

What will it be for you? what trigger would allow you to "see" what you haven't seen before. The evidence has been all around you, but you hadn't noticed. You had gathered the data but it had not become information, and if you don't then take that information, internalise it and apply it to your life, then it will never become knowledge.

I was talking to a good friend and long time reader of the daily dose and he was quite excited. He had been stuck in an airport for a couple of hours, and had the opportunity to observe his fellow passengers at length. And as he put it, all the topics covered by the daily dose were there, walking around him. In the way they dressed, the way they spoke and interacted, the way they walked. He admitted that he had read the daily musings, thought - yes, that's a good idea, or no that doesn't apply to me. But had not taken the information he had been given, and used it.

As I have been saying for a long time, you can have all the theory in the world, but unless you do something with the theory, you will never change your life. What will be your defining moment? What will it take for you to make a difference to the way your own life turns out?

=========================================

In luminous flashes of sudden vision, we may discover jewels of wi sdom hidden within ourselves. These flashes might come in words (a powerful phrase or poem) or in a glowing visual image or both. When these insights reveal themselves to us, it is as if a veil of mist simply dropped away. Universal and timeless truths seem to emerge from the shadows and stand bathed in the light of deep understanding)" Lucia Capacchione, American Art Therapist
