Harnessing the power of Christmas
Hands up those of you who've finished Christmas shopping? How about the food and booze (assuming you indulge) you will need to purchase for the few days when the shops don't actually open. How about wrapping the presents, writing the christmas cards and obligatory letters that go with them?
Have you stopped to consider that there is more time, effort and money spent on this one day each year than at any other time?
One of the reasons you do more at this time of year is because you know what you want, you've written it down and you know the steps you need to take to get it, whatever "it" is, . You also have absolute deadline. Everything is planned down to the nth degree and beware anyone who gets in your way down the shopping mall - you are on a mission and you don't care who knows about it. There is not one chance in a million that you will wait until the January sales to do your christmas shopping is there? Unless you are buying for next year of course, which lets face it, is unlikely.
So, translate those same skills and abilities into one of your other goals and see what a difference it can make.
But the final thought for today is this. In amongst doing everything for everyone else - consider that you also need time to rest, time to do "your" stuff, time to recharge your batteries ready for the next big push into the new year,
Consider what would happen if we could harness that energy, drive and enthusiasm for our other goals. As we said yesterday, if we don't do what needs to be done, we are going to disappoint a lot of people - including ourselves.
