A year of completed projects awaits
I don't know about you, but when I look back over the year that was 2007, there were times when I hit the mark, and other times when I didn't. And the reasons why are numerous.
When I was successful I:
- Knew what I wanted to do and achieve
- A clear plan to achieve those aims and objectives
- A definite time line
- Support, love and care to allow me the space to do what I needed to do
When I failed miserably I:
- Allowed other people to dictate my activities and thoughts
- Talked myself out of doing even the simple things, telling myself I needed to rest, to recover (especially when it came to exercise)
- Told myself that I would start tomorrow
- Wasted time on things that did not matter
- Forgot that I people who could help me
- Did not write down the things I needed to do, so that I could conveniently forget that I had things that needed to be done
In other words, I am working on me just as you are working on you. I know that we cannot be on the go for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But life does need to be balanced.
We are coming to the end of an interesting year, and about to embark on an even better one. Why?
Because we are that's why.
A simple mind set that says, you know what - what's done is gone and I cannot rewind the clock, I cannot go back and undo those things I said and didn't say, do or didn't do. I can only move onwards and upwards from this moment.
So, my question for you as you start to think about putting on the dancing shoes is this:
Do you want to get to the end of 2008 in exactly the same situation as you are now? Or are you willing to say, you know what Elle, 2008 is going to be my year. The year when I finally start to cross things off the goal list. And if that's you - welcome, hang on tight, because it's going to be one heck of a journey.
With love and light for the next 12 months / 52 weeks /366 days of 2008
