Good afternoon, I would just like to say a personal thank you to those people who have taken the time to tell me of their successes since reading and taking action as a result of these daily batterings. Thank you I hope you continue to get lots of useful information, suggestions, hints and tips out of them so you can get more out of every day.
So how do you get more out of every day?
The first thing is to sleep well. If you wake refreshed and raring to go, you will achieve more than those people who hit the snooze button and then have to play catch up for the rest of the day.
But before you go to sleep, you should prepare for tomorrow. And you do that by making sure your bag is packed, you know what you are doing, and where you need to be, and where you need to go. Sounds like a recipe for a sales rep, but it should apply to us all. We may go to work at the same place, at the same time, we may choose to dress with care or we may choose to pcik up the first thing we found lying on the floor. But if you prepare yourself the night before, you can find the clothes you are going to wear, shoes etc, and pack your bag. Just as we make our kids do before they go to bed, so when the grumpy little wotsits wake up in the morning to go to school there isn't a last minute panic trying to find the right books.
1. So preparation is one of the major keys to getting more out of every day. 2. Followed by getting a decent nights sleep. And when the alarm goes off, get up. Now you are way ahead of everyone else. And finally for today -
3. Try not to watch the morning news, one thing i have noticed is that most people who watch the news tend to be more depressed and aggravated on the drive into work. Especially if they have heard nothing but doom and gloom all morning. News is designed to sell, so the more sensationalist it is, the better. Unfortunately - it also tends to dominate our thought processes for the rest of the day. So if you want to do more each day, don't watch the news as you get ready. And don't listen to the radio either, especially drive time radio in the car. Again, inane chatter, interspersed with adverts advising you to buy things you don't need, designed to keep the population "down".
Believe me when i tell you, you will have a much happier and far more productive day if you listen to something cheerful on the way into work each day.
So those are the first three things you need to do - every day. Tomorrow we will take a look at what else you need to do in order to get more out of every day, until then, lets beat the procrastination habit.
