Living up to your true potential
Contemplation of the day's activities is essential. Deciding what not to do, is as important as deciding what you should be doing. But I would hazard a guess that not many people would consider starting a Sunday with planning and preparation.
Life without plans, each day a chance to live up to unfulfilled potential.
Of course a few people think they are getting on, living their dream lives. Crossing things off their lists, but how many of them are working on their goals every second of every day. Impossible? Well yes it is if you don't know where you are going and what your goals are. But infinitely possible if you do.
The city was just waking up as I started my day, the sun at an awkward angle. The sound of birdsong drowned out by the clanging of chairs and cutlery. Fishermen drifted into the cover, gliding across still waters. But the fish weren't hungry and they left to cast their lines elsewhere.
In the distance loud speakers counted down to the start of some unseen competition, 4,000 people about to challenge their minds and bodies to do something. As I sat contemplating the tasks I had to complete today, drinking a cup of take-away coffee, a few people were out, enjoying the dappled start of what promised to be yet another humid day. The forecast thundery showers not evident as the early morning exercisers wobbled past the wait staff who had drawn the short straw for setting out the tables for those who couldn't be bothered to cook for themselves.
Sunday - the day of rest for some, but for most, a day of not living up to their true potential.
