Stop taking others for granted

Unless you live in a hotel, then stop treating your home like one. We can all be guilty of expecting other people to clean up after us, do the laundry, dishes and cook the dinner. But it is more than just treating other people like you have your own set of unpaid maid servants, it is a lack of respect for yourself that is the biggest telling point especially with regards to procrastination and motivation.

If you don't respect yourself and the place you supposedly call home, then you are unlikely to want to spend time and clean it are you? If you expect other people to clean up after you then you have no respect for other people's time or needs. Are you guilty of borrowing other people's time to compensate for your inability to manage yours?

But what about those people reading this who can afford to pay for the services of a cleaning person, am I saying that you shouldn't have one? Not at all, you are employing another person, giving that person a chance of a better standard of living, and there is nothing wrong with that.  But the question I have to ask is this - are you using the extra time that you have been given by not cleaning your own home as effectively as you could or should, or do you feel that you don't have to work quite so hard now you don't have to run around like a headless chook?

Whilst we are on the subject of taking others for granted....remember it doesn't have to be a special occassion to make it one, after all today is the only chance you have of living life today. Are you sure you still want to be miserable and grumpy knowing that today will be it for some people?
