Do not limit your thinking
Limited thinking usually has the words:
But
If only
Can't do that
I'd do.....if.... but you know none of the .....has ever done that so who am I to think that I can do that????
attached to the end of sentences.
Limited thinking stops you from achieving anything out of your normal zone of comfort.
- I'd like a $10,000 pay rise this year....but....
- I'd like to turn over $4 million in sales this year, but we've only ever done 1.5 in the past how am I going to.....
- I'd like to lose 30lbs by christmas - but I've never stuck to a diet before and I don't think I can.... maybe I'll lose 10, 10 will be OK, 10 is a good start....
10 is a cop out. Your limited thinking is stopping you from being true to yourself.
We all do it all of the time, and it's time to stop it. Only when you tell yourself that you can, will you achieve. The how's usually take care of themselves. Most of the time we know how, we just don't think we deserve whatever it is we want.
Deserve is an interesting word isn't it. You may think you'd like a $10,000 pay rise, so you don't ask. You settle for less than you are really worth because you don't feel you deserve it.
Well I'm here to tell you that you do deserve it. But you have to believe in yourself - when you start to believe in yourself, you will know you deserve everything you set your sights upon.
Now a caveat - this is not arrogance, this is not ego that makes us think we are worth more than others...I deserve it because I'm better than so and so....you deserve it because you are being true to you, you are being true to your potential.
And your potential is only limited by your current thinking. So what do you really want?
