Age is no barrier to success
It doesn't matter how old you are when you have a good idea, a good idea is a good idea, what you need to do is get that idea working for you.
Colonel Sanders was "retired" when he came up with the recipe and the idea for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Larry Page and Sergey Brin were two PhD students when they created "Backrub" - Backrub became Google, and the rest as they say is money in the bank.
What sets people like Colonel Sanders and Page & Brin apart from the also rans is that they were willing to knock on doors, figuratively as well as literally until they found people willing to back them. They had faith in their "products" and more importantly they had faith in themselves. And in doing so, created the success that is talked about across the world. People also talk about "luck". Well, if the stories are true, luck comes to those people who are willing to work for it. Ask J K Rowling about life before Harry Potter was accepted for publication, or the many scientists and inventors who spend their lives trying and failing before they succeed. Is any of that "luck"? Personally I would call it sheers guts and determination.
What are you willing to stake your reputation on? What are you so proud of that you would be willing to do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING to get that idea off the ground?
Remember, every thing that you say and do has your signature on it, so why not create something that you are proud of.
