Life is an adventure
We are born into a world that has no pre-determined pathways, every road can lead us to a million different places each going in opposite directions.
Is it any wonder that we can hardly get excited about going out of the front door into this vast, unknown world. I mean, we have no idea who or what we will become as a result of venturing forth.
Is it any wonder that we struggle with conflicting priorities. We have been told by many people we come into contact with - what path we should travel. Go into the family business. You'll never amount to much, the best you can hope for is working as a ...... fill in the blank.
We want to do something different from those plans and roads that others have laid out for us, but we don't know how to start, where the path begins, and what frightening dragons there may be on the way to our destination.
Do you remember seeing those maps - "there be dragons" it's always amused me, because the biggest dragons we fear, are our own self-limiting beliefs, and those imposed upon us by well meaning and totally incorrect elders.
Just because they didn't want to set forth on their grand adventure, content to sit on the pier and watch the ship taking everyone who did dare, away. They think that they have the right to tell you what is in your best interests.
whilst it can be a good thing to emulate those whose paths you admire, it is not such a good thing to be limited by one path or one person.
How do you decide which adventure is yours to live? Well you were born into a world of infinite possibilities. Those things that you should be doing can be found in those tiny moments of pleasure that you would do anything to do more of....
Determine what you would walk over hot coals for, and that my friend is the path you should take. But remember, leave your dragons at home.
