Carpe diem
Did you party hard last night? Are you suffering the consequences today? Are you going to vow never to do THAT again?
Experience is a hard task master. Yet sometimes we can and do repeat behaviours that we know are not good for us, and the silly season is a prime example. After all, it's not called the silly season for nothing.
If you continue doing the same things in the same way it stands to reason that you WILL get the same outcome.
Well sort of.
Other things can and do make a difference and this is where "life" gets interesting.
If you choose today to make one small change to your daily routine, and continue to make one small change to your daily routine every day, over the next 12 months you will have made 366 changes to the outcomes.
So what are these changes that I am talking about? Well if you consider that every day you are faced with a million decisions that you need to make. Do you get up, do you shower and brush your teeth or do you slip on the old and dirty clothes that are littering your floor and tell yourself it doesn't matter. HINT - everything matters, and every small detail, every small decision impacts on the next set of decisions that you make. Because you decided to not shower and get dressed in clean clothes you have told yourself that it is ok to be a "slob" today. So instead of having the fresh fruit and yoghurt you had promised yourself - you opt for takeout on the way into the office instead. And because you chose your early options in a "poor" way, you may be tempted to continue the same "poor" choices throughout the day, culminating in another night filled with alcohol instead of water....
So as you start your new year, with or without headache - consider this. Take care of the details and your life will improve beyond comprehension. I can guarantee it. And why I say that is simple. If you take care of the details, you will "care" enough to continue that mindset into tackelling the bigger things....whatever they are.
With love and light
