Self concept

---------------------------
Today's daily dose: Self Concept: Learning to value ourselves
---------------------------
Quite often we do not give ourselves the credit we deserve. We don't think we've done as many wonderful things as everyone else. We put ourselves down, not only to people who try and pay us compliments, or congratulate us on a job well done, but we put ourselves down to the most important person in the entire world. Us.

Given that today is Saturday and most of us will be away from the working environment, I want you to do something for yourself. No, there won't be a test later, but I wish there were, because this one cuts to the core of who you are, and what you value most in life.

Take a portable writing device and move yourself into a quiet place. It needn't be in the home, but can be anywhere where you can "think". A church, a garden, a library - basically anywhere that works for you, and I would like you to spend some time and write down at least fifty items that you are proud of. Things that you've done, achieved and accomplished.

For me, my list includes:

1. Raising two healthy, intellectual and creative children
2. Learning how to knit
3. Doing 10 "boy" pushups (working up to 100) without falling flat on my nose
4. Creating motivateme
5. Being a published author
6. Finishing the beginners pole dance course
7. Helping people overcome the procrastination habit through my training programs and of course daily messages
8. Creating my 4metre long, ceiling high library mural
9. Exercising every day
10. Making every day a better one than yesterday

Once you have created your list, and please don't stop at 50 if you don't want to. I would like you to spend some time during this next week and review the items on the list. These items are proof you have achieved great things. And if you have achieved ALL of these things, what else can you achieve?

With many thoughts
Elle
