Remembering those who served

Yesterday was "remembrance day". A day when we say thank you to those people who served in the many conflicts, trying to protect their countries, their fellow soldiers countries and the families of everyone back home (wherever that was). My father served in the Cyprus conflict and bore the scars to prove it. Every November 11 we stood (usually in the freezing rain - well it was England) in our uniforms (I went through the Brownie Guides and the Girl Guides - and yes gained my Queen's Guide) to say thank you for doing what you did.

Today more than ever, with conflicts raging across the globe we need to remember those who give up their time, their energy and oftentimes their lives so that we may enjoy our lives.

And if that is the case - when people are willing to die for us, are we not willing to do everything we possibly can to help ourselves be better today. Do better things today? And help our families, friends and our clients and customers.

So before you start whingeing about how bad your life is. Think about how different your life would be if you'd been on the "other side".
