Stop procrastinating and just phone

Stop procrastinating and just phone

"Will you just pick up the phone and call him"

Well I just need to plan what I am going to say

"No you are just procrastinating, cos you don't think he's going to like what you've got to tell him and you're afraid"

OK I'm procrastinating

"And?"

OK I'll phone

So went a conversation I had with my daughter recently. She was not doing something she knew would be painful for her to do. But she also knew the problem was not going away or going to resolve itself until she had indeed picked up the phone and called. The conversation when it did happen took 2 minutes and wasn't an issue. But it took about 20 minutes of effort to avoid doing it.

Sometimes we can all be guilty of delaying things because we fear the outcome, and will spend many hours, days and months avoiding the task - only to find when it absolutely couldn't be put off any longer, when it was do now or else there is going to be serious ramifications do people get on and do those dreaded tasks, usually to find they were not as bad as they thought they were going to be.

When you let fear and doubt rule your life, you will never get anything done. And that is why one simple act may be all that is required to turn your life around. What one thing can you do right now that you know you've been putting off because you fear the outcome? So why not do it and see how easy it was to resolve.
