Improving your personal productivity time: Cards

Improving your personal productivity time: Cards
---------------------------
You've probably already bought and sent this year's christmas cards, so this is something to think about for the new year.

Go through your calendar and work out how many cards you need to buy for the year. How many boy / men / girl / female / relatives / friends cards and then buy them all in one go. Whilst you are it, buy the stamps at the same time. Then spend one evening writing each card and addressing the envelopes. But instead of fixing the stamp on straight away, write the date of the person's birthday where the stamp should go.

Leave the envelope unstuck just in case you want to write a letter a little closer to the date.

And this principle applies to Christmas cards too. If you know how many cards you send each year, why not buy them in the sales - save yourself money in the first instance, and as you get time during the year, write the cards and address the envelopes. Believe me it can save hours of frustration.

One other thing I do at Christmas time is write one letter - well type it actually. Everyone gets the same Christmas letter, and my folks can't say "well she never told me that ...." (and yes believe it or not, they do do that). I've done the christmas letter in this way now for the last 5 or 6 years, and you won't believe how much time it can save you.

With many thoughts
