When does a habit become a "holic"?
When you can't not do it
Alcoholic - someone who can't stop drinking even though they know it's bad for them
Workaholic - someone who thinks work will not manage with them
Chocaholic - someone who thinks they need to eat sugary laden cocoa to get through the day
Now, this could be deemed to be a facetious look at what can be quite a serious problem / condition. So a couple of thoughts:
You have to have a determination that goes beyond habits in order to reach some of the goals you say you want to achieve. You have to be single minded and determined. You have to say - I want this, and nothing is going to get in my way. Nothing is going to stop me. And if that isn't the behavioural characteristic of a "holic" then I don't know what is.
Of course you can correct me if you like...we enjoy a polite discussion here at MotivateMe!
Without that kind of determination and dedication to whatever you say you want to achieve, you are going to struggle to make major inroads into your goal list.
But where does the determination come from? While external influences can start you on the path, which can be achieved in a couple of ways. You can attend more motivational seminars, or you can wait for someone to scream in your ear. Whichever way you choose, only you can decide whether you are going to do the work or not, how fast you complete the work, and what kind of attitude you have. As you know by now, if you
can't really be bothered, it shows in the results you get.
