Travelling the side roads to your destination can be fun
Apologies for the lack of content to date, jet lag, a headcold and major reconstruction on a tooth I managed to break at London Heathrow airport has ensured that I have not had the energy or inclination to hook up the home computer. My body clock is still a little out of whack, the head cold is abating, and if only the injection sites for the anaesthetic would stop hurting - i'd be fine.
As you can imagine, the last few days in England were as traumatic as the first few. Thankfully we were not leaving mum with a completely empty household when we got into the car for the final leg down through road works and into London Heathrow airport.
Now I am almost back into the swing of things, I would like to re-iterate a comment I made in an earlier edition of the dose....I am going to have to learn to travel a whole lot lighter if I am going to hit the road as do some of the readers of the "daily" dose. But I suppose with time and practice, we can all perfect the way we do things, and that includes packing, organising and travelling. So for those who travel on a regular basis - I don't know how you do it.
As promised I will be posting a series of photos and notes from the trip back home in the not too distant future. But until then....
So how have you been while I've been away? I hope you have begun 2008 with a smile and a determination that says "this is it, this year is going to be massive, and I mean MASSIVE".
Of course what constitutes MASSIVE will be different for each one of us, so remember these are just suggestions, they are not a one-size fits all strategy. Take what works for you and keep on doing it. Slowly, decision by decision you will see changes begin to take place, which makes the next set of decisions easier to make.
As I have begun to reconstruct my life, I have made a few decisions on things that I need to do. And as I thought about these things, I wrote them down. Nothing new there, it's called a goal list...but with a difference.
I have allocated a couple of pages per area for things I would like to do, see, change. Before I've always lumped my goals into one big list....which can get a little overwhelming for me. But a list of any kind is good, if one big list works for you - then keep on doing what you do. Me, I like to try other ways to see if what I do, can be done better, smarter, faster.
What I have noticed as I have created these lists is this - most of my personal lists (as opposed to house and garden type lists) impact on each other.
Or should I say - the results of achieving those things will impact on my other lists.
For example, I have always been "hippy" but would like to trim down some of the excess inches off my lower half - but rather than say, go on a diet and lose x number of pounds - I wrote all the ways I would like to increase my exercise and forms of hip reduction....which includes believe it or not - learn how to dance. Now I just need a partner....minor point perhaps. You see reducing my waist and hip measurements will also impact on another one of my major goals and that is to reduce my body fat composition into a healthier range. Believe me when I say I am not fat by any means, but I could do with a tone up and a tune up. Which will also impact on the major goal for my life and that is to live forever - you will be pleased to know that so far it's working. (OK I stole that from Woody Allan) - but it does impact on the quality and quantity of your life span if you can reduce size. Note I did not say, lose weight that's just a nice benefit!
So, a thought for today. See how your goal list is structured. Which ones will impact on the others? What can you do differently to get the result that you want?
Personally I need to find some dancing shoes, and a class or two.
With love and light.
