How long have you got?

I overheard two friends talking to one another the other day. One was lamenting the fact that he was now chasing 60 and he'd better get busy otherwise he'd end up not doing everything he'd always wanted to do. I quietly congratulated him, not many people are willing to admit they've not done enough yet, and even fewer willing to step up and raise their game to do more, be more and achieve more. I'm not talking about you - the readers of the daily dose you understand because I know you already are. I just wish there were more of you willing to do that little bit more.

But to go back to the first point, and that is - how old he was and how long he might have left, the reality is, none of us know how long we've got left. So remember - don't chase after some obscure time in the future before you get stuck into living your life.

How many times have you said

I'll do it when....the kids leave home, i've eaten all the food left over from easter, i've bought my own home, the seasons change, the washing's dry, dinners cooked.....or whatever other statement you use on a regular basis to put off doing what you know you should be doing. As you know by now, that's procrastination - and we don't "do procrastination".

Remember me telling you a few weeks ago about my first pole dancing lesson? Well last night was week 4. At the beginning I couldn't spin, didn't have enough strength in my upper arms, hands or wrists to hold my body weight. 6 hours of class later,  all that has changed.  At the beginning I was afraid I was going to land flat on my butt, now I don't care. I still land on my butt occasionally, but the adrenalin rush, the laughter and the bruises are well worth it. I just wish I had started dance lessons years ago.

Don't do what I do - wish you had done something and were afraid to have a go.

As someone once said - life is not a spectator sport, so make today your day to truly participate.

A news article that was sent to me today said that - low levels of physical activity could be the reason why people get sick - interesting piece - http://www.ohsonline.com/articles/60035/

On a final note, we are getting a lot of bounce backs (mainly yahoo and aol) to advise that messages are being deferred. If you could remember to add - elle@motivateme.info to your white list if you haven't already done it - thank you - we might be able to avoid a few of them, which also means that you get your messages.

I hope today contains many opportunities for achievement.
