Out of order comes new solutions
If order breeds habits in us, then surely in order to break our habits, we need to move away from our orderly lives into the realms of chaos.
Now before you start to panic - bear with me just a minute.
Imagine that you don't know where you want to go, or what you want to achieve, sometimes your mind can freeze and offers no new suggestions. it just goes around and around going over the same problem and same potential outcomes.
But if you are willing to move into an open minded position (I call it chaotic thinking, others call it brain storming) then your mind is more likely to offer many alternatives.
Where chaotic thinking differs from brain storming (in my opinion) is you do it on your own...usually with pen and paper in hand. And the questions:
Who, What, Where, How, Why are always a great starting point
- How can I do this differently?
- Who can help me?
- Why should they bother?
- Why should I bother?
- What's in it for me?
- Where am I going - really?
- What do I want to achieve?
- If I did this, what would happen?
- If I did that, would it make any difference?
Try it, you might suprise yourself
