Appointments

How good are you at keeping appointment?

Do you leave in plenty of time? Make sure you know where you are going, where the nearest parking is, and whether you have enough change for the meter? Do you know who you are supposed to be meeting and why? Do you know enough about the organisation to make a decision if presented with an opportunity?

When you get ready for the appointment do you make sure you are dressed appropriately, wear enough makeup (if chosen) to impress rather than detract, how about cologne or perfume? Are you hoping the latter will disguise the lack of showering before you dressed, the stale cigarette smoke and the garlic you had with dinner last night? Are you busy chewing gum to assist with the after effects?

Every time we have to keep an appointment we usually go through a mental ritual of making sure everything is just so - well I do at any rate and I can hope you do too.

But how about those appointments you make with your partner and your kids? Do you keep those - or do you make excuses as to why you can't go to the ball game / movies etc even though you promised?

How about those appointments you make with yourself - I will have an early night tonight, I will go to the gym, I will make that dental appointment, I will have a shower and .....

Are you are good at keeping those promises? If you are anything like everyone else - the answer would be - not as well as those other "appointments" I make with other people.

A word of advice - you are the CEO of the business of YOU. So why don't you treat yourself with the respect YOU deserve and remember to keep those appointments.

As always something to think about
