what do you do in your spare time?
Before I get into today's edition I would just like to say thank you. Thank you to those of you who have answered my plea to add me to your white lists....and as a matter of interest - I can be found on Facebook if you would like to add me - Lorraine Bradshaw - long story - but that was my maiden name....and the Elle stands for L which is of course.... anyway, just let me know you're a reader of the DDOMM - we don't do randoms!!!!
The other thing I would like to say is this - thank you for taking Motivate Me to where it is today. In just 2 years readership has grown in leaps and bounds. Some of you have been with me from the beginning - so thank you. Thank you for being there, every single day listening to my hopes, dreams and sometimes fears. I do feel very honoured and humble to know this has made such an impact on people's lives.
So what of today?
Well today is my "day off" I must admit it's just gone midnight down under - and I really should think about going to bed, but I just wanted to speak to you first. I don't take many days off, about one a fortnight if I were honest. My day starts at 6.20am and runs through til about midnight most days. And most of those days are spent "working". As a writer one never quite switches off. And then of course it hit me. I wouldn't do it, if I didn't enjoy it.
What keeps you up way beyond "bed time"? what nags you to get up in a morning, saying, I should be doing so and so.....
For me, it is simple - my writing is the "thing" that keeps me up, and wakes me in a morning. It's probably also the reason why I class myself as an insomniac most of the time. There's just so much to see, think about and record.
What is it for you? Because once you know what that is, you will find the key to the person that is "you". And once you have found "you" will you have found the reason why you are here. Of course you may disagree with me entirely, and you know what, that's fine too. That's the beauty of this world - free will.
So as you think about starting your working week, make a mental note of what it is you spend a lot of your spare time doing, because in that is the key to your better life.
With love and light
Elle
