Shop online and save time
Are you the kind of person who doesn't like to go grocery shopping, and more to the point - doesn't have time to go and fetch food?
Have you noticed you end up spending more money when you don't go once a week to the shops/ store? You haven't? Well I can almost guarantee you will and the reason is simple. If you don't have ingredients in the house to fix lunch or dinner, you will be more likely to buy it ready made from elsewhere. Of course you may argue that not having to spend time fetching, preparing and cooking said meals can save you time and money - and yes it can if you are a single person - to a certain extent. You can still save money by cooking two dinners, putting one in a freezer container and saving it for a day when you don't have the time or energy to create something nutritious.
A couple of things about cooking your own dinners is this - you know exactly what is going into the meal. No hidden sugars, salts and fats. You know what's in it because you put it there.
OK, I can hear the whingeing from me - I don't have time to shop and cook. Well outsource the first part and get your groceries home delivered. There are a lot of stores and supermarkets that allow you to shop online and for a small fee will deliver it to your door. If you multiply the time you normally spend wandering around the shops trying to find stuff...I'm sure they've moved it again....against your normal hourly rate, you will notice you can save quite a bit of money using this one technique.
Do I shop online for my groceries? No I don't - but then again I like mooching around shops for different things to try out on the unsuspecting members of my family. But remember the caveat - you will always find time to do what you really want to do. And if shopping is a pain for you - then don't do it.
Of course there are other things you can outsource including:
gardening, ironing, housework, filing and bookkeeping and clothes shopping can be done online through many of the catalogue sites too.
If your "free" time is limited, then why not outsource some of those tasks you don't have the time for and generate some extra income for someone else. I know it works well for the people who do it.
