Little things can add up to be a great deal
Remember those tiny coins I mentioned the other day - well there is five dollars worth sitting in a pot on my dresser as we speak, I've just counted it. 3 of which is 5 and 10 cent coins and the other is a single 2 dollar coin....which means five bucks will be going towards someone's needs this week.
Every one of those coins was picked up individually, and always when I am on foot - rarely do you find coins when you're driving of course !! Which means I spend a great deal of time out walking. Walking is one of my stress busters. Every single step may not seem like much but over the course of an hour or so you can walk between 5 and 7 kilometres depending on your speed and length of stride. Every step I take burns up one or two calories, again nothing much - but over the course of a single hour long walk I can get rid of upwards of several hundred calories which means of course, those calories aren't converted into stored fat, but the energy goes towards building better muscle tone and general levels of fitness. I also get to listen to the many countless hours of music we have stored as MP3's. Little by little I can listen to the entire collection - one walk at a time.
Every single phone call you make to your current clients is a step towards building yourself a better future. A single call may not yield much in the way of sales, but the next time you call, added value to the conversation may mean it does. Every single call builds trust in your client base and you will be seen to the person who made a difference, and sooner or later those single calls out will generate more calls in, and more money into your business.
Every single widget you make and sell, every single word you add to your book, every day you eat properly and healthfully, every single day may not seem like much - but over the course of a few weeks - what a difference it will make.
Consider those cups of coffee you buy in a morning on the way to work. Average of lets say 4 dollars a cup for takeaway. Over a 5 day working week, that equates to twenty, again it doesn't seem like a lot of money - but over the course of a year - assuming you work for 48 of those weeks - that makes believe me or not 960 dollars. What could you do with an extra 960 dollars in your bank account each year? And what about those other purchases you make - those lunches you buy because you couldn't be bothered to make your own, or get up in time to make your lunch? So as a bit of an experiment - instead of buying those cups of coffee and take out lunches this week - put the money to oneside every day you don't buy them. Take your food with you of course. Then count it up at the end of the week...and decide whether you are going to spend a few dollars - or save next weeks as well and spend a few more on something you've been promising yourself - when you have the spare cash. I look at it this way - 4 days of not buying coffee equates to one movie ticket. Little things over time, can add up to bigger, much bigger things.
As always something to think about.
