Actions speak louder

Do you say what you do and do what you say, or are you the kind of person who says one thing and does another? I love cliche's - but in this particular case they are the perfect choice of words, because today I would like to talk to you about those things you say and those things you do.

What kind of role model would you say you are?

Now, before you stop reading thinking this does not apply to you, please bear with me, because even if you don't think you have anyone who looks up to you, you are probably mistaken.

Everyone, in my opinion, is a role model to those people who they associate with. Do you do your homework? Do your friends do theirs or are they sloping off to chat on MSN or facebook?
Do you do all that you can during your working hours or do you take too many coffee breaks so you can chat to your colleagues?
Do you do things for other people without needing someone to reciprocate? Or are you the kind of person who keeps tally over what you give out and what you get back? And when you don't get back what you think you deserve do you get annoyed "I've done so and so for you and you never ...."
If you begrudge when you give - be it time, energy, money or gifts you will be waiting a long(er) time to recieve anything good in return. People prefer to give to people they like.

I am about to start reading a book called "The go-giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann - and I am sure their story will match my own personal philosophy on life and that is - what you give out comes back to you - in spades....

So what are your actions saying about the kind of person you are?

Are you a giver and receiver, a begrudging giver or just a taker? Personally I feel there is more joy to be had in giving than taking, but I am learning to accept with thanks and a smile those good things that come my way. How about you?

Share your gifts of words with your fellow readers here at ...

Oh and if you want a copy of the The Go-Giver I got mine from Amazon - but I'm sure there will be more information at http://www.burg.com

With love and light
