Begin with the end in mind

Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2009 brings to you many wonderful things and of course lots of completed projects.

Which brings me quite nicely to today's thought for the day.

As you count down to the 2010 New Year, that's right - when you get to the 31st December 2009 - what are you hoping you will have achieved during this year? What projects? What goals? Where do you want to be living? What do you want to be doing? Who do you want to be sharing your life with? What size do you want to be?

When you think about your goals in this way, as in - wow did I achieve ALL that in 2009 - how good do you think you are going to feel?

So, thinking about what it is you want to have achieved by December 31st - then you need to work out how long (roughly) it is going to take you to achieve those things. Then it can be as simple as getting out your diary and filling in the time slots with the work required to complete the item(s).

Of course some things are on-going - like eating well and exercising, making time to play with the kids / grand kids / animals or whoever else is important to you. And one final thing as you fill your diary with exciting plans and projects - remember there will be down time. You do need to find time to balance work / goals and pleasure time, otherwise you might find yourself with unexpected down time (illness), so balance your time now and you will be less likely to overdo things as you get stuck into those dreams of yours.
