Don't be afraid to try something different

Be willing to expand your thoughts.

It's important to be willing to try something new - preferably every day, but I know first hand how hard that can be, so I do like to do / try something different at least once a week. It can be a movie I would never have considered watching, an author I've never read, a place I've never been, a food stuff I have never tried.

We are only limited by what we want to be limited by. Our thoughts, our normal patterns of behaviour, and yes, sometimes our family members and places of work contribute to that. But we are not at their beck and call 24/7 we can still do certain things differently (or in a different way).

And why is this important?

Well if you don't expand your thinking in some way, you will never change your current circumstances. Of course you may be happy with where you are and what you have achieved so far - but I doubt it. Not if you are a true student of life and motivate me in particular.

If you think about it this way - if you try one new food item each week this year, you will have excited your taste buds 52 times. If you read one book each week, you will have read 52 books - and how many books do you think your neighbours read? How well are your neighbours doing?

Since my mum and sister arrived, we have done so many new things - we've been to the races, we've walked to lighthouses across seaweed strewn beaches ( and most of the pics areposted on my facebook account - Elle Bradshaw if you've got an account and want to join me - and the others will join them when I get the time,) and the changes, the new things we've done has expanded my thoughts, my experiences and my feelings and that has got to be a good thing. Because lets face it, when we are at the end of our lives we will remember the experiences far more than the "things" we've bought.

So, try something different. Experience it, live it and see your life change one small step at a time.
