Trying your hardest
"Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is usually more important than the outcome. Not everyone can be Number 1"
Arthur Ashe
That doesn't mean you shouldn't try to be the best you can possibly be, in fact it is essential that you do try your hardest, otherwise what is the point of starting something. If you have a "ho hum" attitude towards life and living the life you say you want to live, well you're hardly going to be inspired.
In everything you decide to do, decide to try your hardest. Try to eat better today than you did yesterday. Exercise for a little longer at a harder intensity than the last time. Do 5 extra repetitions, push ups, chin ups or sit ups (or whatever you do in your exercise plan) -muscles need the same reminder as our minds, they also need to stretch in order to grow. Choose a different author and read something different. If you never read the economist or the harvard business review go to your library and spend some time and read something from a range of different publications. It doesn't matter what your profession - you will benefit from reading as widely as you possibly can.
Watch a different TV channel, or play a board game with your children, spend time meditating - learning to turn off your mind can be immensely beneficial in today's fast paced life.
Trying your hardest is never just limited to your profession, but everything you do. As we said the other day -trying your hardest and your best means autographingyour life with pride.
