It ain't braggin if you can do it
So said "dizzy dean" and it's true, although some people may still say you are letting pride and arrogance get in the way if you do happen to mention it once or twice ...
So - let your actions speak louder than the words you use.
Let others brag about what you are capable of... so long as you don't believe everything the "press" say about you, you'll be just fine.
let me explain:
When I was talking to a group of new grads recently about answering a certain question on how they would rate themselves on a scale of one to ten on communication skills, I was interested to hear some comments, which of course got me thinking about how I would answer that question.
I would never rate myself a 10 out of 10 - if someone else thinks I am good enough, then all well and good - but I would give myself about an 8 or an 8.5 - because there is always something to learn. I would never assume I was worthy of a 10/10 because I never consider that my recent work is good enough to rate it....I can always find some way to improve. As you know I am a professional communicator by profession - but a 10 out of 10, no way - like I said - an 8 or an 8.5 but a 10 - absolutely not.
Every day I have a chance to improve, just as you do... but don't let your words do the braggin, let your actions do that for you
