Are you guilty of missing the traffic?

It's hard to get excited about the sale you didn't make, the commission you didn't get, the holiday you were going to take but didn't, the house you were going to buy, the car you nearly got.

But talking to a lot of people - that's exactly how they live their lives...talking about things they don't have or things they didn't quite manage to do.

Then you get the second half of the equation

It was because of so and so

Really?

I don't think so

Playing the blame game is an interesting way to live your life. You blame other people for the actions you take (or rather the in-action you take). It's all right for you / them - "you / they" have all the luck.

What these people don't see of course is the hard work, the dedication, the perseverance, the minor successes. Each "minor" point adding up over a period of time towards what other people call "luck".

The "lucky ones" are the kind of people who pick up the telephone to make one last sales call of the day - they've already met their daily quota, but they're making just one more so they can get ahead on tomorrow and maybe make the big sale in the process. Whereas the person who thinks these people have all the luck are already pulling on their coats and grabbing bags so they can miss the traffic.

Have you been guilty of thinking you'll leave now so you can "miss the traffic?" Then don't blame others if they have "all the luck".
