No limits on the mush
As 2009 draws to a close I would like to offer you a thought for today
"Everybody has limits. You just have to learn what your own limits are and deal with them accordingly"
Nolan Ryan
Now for some it may mean accepting those limits, after all we have been told by so many people why we can't do something we have begun to believe it must be true.
And for others, there are no limits. Everything is an adventure, something to explore, test, learn and enjoy.
What kind of person are you?
Do you accept that you have your lot in life and that is what you are going to deal with - come hell or high water, never straying beyond the boundaries of what "normal" society has deemed is your place in life? Or
Are you willing to accept that maybe there is a bigger, better, brighter world out there just waiting for you to discover it?
Believe me it's not that scary a place in the world of new things.
I'm sure there are a few of you thinking about writing the same tired set of new year's resolutions - well for once I would like you to do something radical. Don't take a step outside of your comfort zone - take a giant, flying leap - pick something you have always wanted to do - and give it a go. Believe me when I say - once you decide you are going to do something, the ways and the means do come.
Then once you have figured out what it is - start work on it straight away - that's right - now, right in the middle of the run up to christmas - or do you enjoy spending too much time sitting on your butt, watching tv and eating too much?
For some people - that flying leap might be to hold a dinner party at their home. For others it may mean climbing that mountain, or trekking in Nepal. Pick something you have always wanted to do and plan it, work out the details, work out what it would take......and yes you guessed it, that is what goal setting is all about - living the details so they are so real you cannot help but complete them.
Don't waste the end of the year - plan the next and glorious part of your life, believe me when I say - it's a good thing to have something to look forward to when the snow turns to mush and you're bored (or your brain is melting from the heat of the summer sun down under).
So, remember the old but true cliche - the only limits you have are the ones sitting right between your ears.
