Work / Life Balance is achievable

I know I talk a lot about trying to find balance, and I do know how hard it is to try and achieve it. But I feel it is something we should all try and find.

If your life is full of pleasure and little in the way of work - your life is out of balance, and so will be your bank balance and probably your waist line, health and fitness. You see balance isn't about one thing to the detriment of something else, but a whole series of things - that together form your entire life.

Is your life in balance? Or are you trying too hard in one area so that other parts are lacking commitment? When you stop and think about it objectively - it's called values. What do you say you value in life? And are you living up to those personal values. You can't say you value health if your diet consists of too many beers down the local pub every night. Nor can you value family and friends if you hardly ever see them. Do you value work? Do you do all that you can every day or do you find yourself slacking off a bit? Do you value rest and recuperation so when you wake in a morning you are fit and ready to go, or are you burning the candle at both ends and probably with a beer or two and half a bag of pretzels thrown in for good measure?

We all have a set of personal values - when our lives are out of balance it's because we are not living up to them.

If you know what your values are, you will know whether you have a balanced life or not.
