Things that motivate me
I suppose this could be sung along with the classic song "these are a few of my favourite things" but I wouldn't recommend it. But these are a few things that motivate me on a daily basis: And apart from items 1 and 2 - in no particular order
1. You
2. My children
3. Knowing my work and my words inspire others
4. Getting feedback
5. Positive self-talk
6. Doing it, even when I don't want to
7. Reading something inspirational
8. Listening to music, hearing the lyrics
9. Crossing things off the goal list
10. Dressing for success
11. Crossing things off the must do before I die list
12. My network of contacts
13. Seeing the end point of the goal come closer
14. Bribery when necessary to make myself begin a task
15. Reward based on achievement
16. Working out the start of the next project / goal
17. Celebrating / acknowledging each major step achieved
18. Feeling both excited and just a little afraid at the goal I've just set myself
19. Knowing that tomorrow will be better than today
20. Getting a good night's sleep
21. Eating well
22. Finding time to relax knowing I've done a good job today
23. Starting a hard task first and finding out it wasn't as hard or as complicated as I had first thought
24. My faith
25. My work
26. My work colleagues
27. My business partner
28. My writing
29. Hearing about your successes
30. Lending a hand when and where I can
31. Helping someone in need
32. Listening
33. Sharing time after work and school with my kids hearing about their day, the successes, the failures, the fun and the games
34. The cats - seeing their laser focus on what they have set their hearts and minds on - my little girl is a natural born stalker, cept I didn't teach her, and nor did her mother....so the instinctive nature that says "I am a cat and I love doing cat things"
35. Love
