What is your company car saying about YOU?

Do you drive a company car? Does your vehicle have a logo of some sort on it?

Two things:

  • Does your driving promote the quality of your business or not?
  • Does your vehicle promote the quality of your business or not?

Now, multiply those questions by the number of cars / vehicles in your organisations fleet of vehicles. Are your drivers promoting or detracting from your business or not?

It may seem like such a petty thing, but the reason for the questions is simple. I was hounded by a car that had company insignia all over it. Worse still the car was battered and was in a terrible state of repair. Would I go to this business based on this organisations calling card? Absolutely not. And another major reason - the driver was prepared to take all sorts of risks, and there is no way - given the business he was promoting would I use a company that had such a cavalier attitude towards safety. I have said many, many times - everything that has your name on it, says something about you. Now is it saying good things or bad?

Now I'm not sure this message falls into the motivational side of things, but it certainly falls under the "oops, better check that one" category.
