Success stories that motivate you

I love hearing from you. I love knowing that the odd suggestion I make resonates with you. I love knowing that you are making a difference to the way your life turns out. It's brilliant, it inspires me and it makes me want, no need to raise my game every day knowing exactly that.

What motivates you?

It may be you can see the changes you are making to your body shape or the way that you eat. Each decision to go to the gym and work out is a success story in the making. Each time you choose healthier foods over the quick and easy options - you are a success story in the making. Every time you pick up the telephone to speak to a client you are building your business and you are writing your own success story. We all know the stats with regards to sales calls, but every time you pick up the telephone and make those sales calls you are making a choice to make a major difference to two people - yourself and your client. Now why would 't you want those feel good moments more often?

I have a good friend who is always on the go. She has moved states, jobs, gained degrees and helped hundreds of people know their worth and true calling. She is a phenomenal person and is always raising the bar and re-writing her personal list of success stories. Both a go-getter and a go-giver in one (for those of you who know the story)....and a true inspiration to me. Given that we only have 24 hours a day - it does make me wonder whether she has her own time machine so she can fit it all in - and I'm sure you know people like that.

Now, before we go any further - a little bit of homework for you on this weekend.

It's been a while since I asked you to do this. But today I want you to begin writing your personal success stories. The blank page beckons - write down everything you have achieved this week. Write it in glorious detail. And then - because memories play tricks on us, go as far back as you can - and write down all the other personal success stories you have achieved. And please don't say you don't have any....if in doubt ask your mum - did you learn to walk and talk? How about tying shoe laces? They may not seem like a lot - but can you imagine never having learned to tie shoelaces? As you fill in your book - and this should be something you have at the side of your bed - an be one of the last things you do before turning out the light. Find something every day to write in your book.

So that when you do have a down moment or two. When you don't feel like rolling out of bed and going to the gym. When you don't feel like eating properly. When you can't be bothered - go back to your success book and re-read it. Allow yourself time to absorb the words, relive the success and like all good endorphin rushes - you will start to feel better and more likely to do what you were procrastinating over.

My successes this week include:

  • Getting back into the going to the gym habit
  • Writing a massive article on the employment issues facing the country
  • Putting together another major client newsletter and getting it produced and mailed
  • Cooking and eating a healthy dinner every night, and lowering my intake of calories to a healthy range....
  • Spending time talking and sharing space with my teenage kids

What will your success book look like? What good things have you done today / this week ?
